Site Patroness

Servant of God Dorothy Day (1897-1980) is the patroness of Spirituality of the Ordinary. A prolific writer, convert, mother, and founder of the Catholic Worker movement, Day worked tirelessly for social justice and as an advocate on behalf of the poor. She grappled with the problems of her society and met them with a prophetic voice and an open door.

My strength returns to me with my cup of coffee and the reading of the Psalms.
